Howard & Co, Boston, made by Waltham, 23J, 16S, heavy 14K gold original Howard case with Jurgensen-style lips, flush hinges, gold cuvette, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel, striped pattern nickel damascene, ornate winding wheel damascene, s#1005470. Gross weight of assembled watch 65.1 dwt (101.3 g). An excellent example of this scarce watch, this 23 jewel bridge model was Waltham's top grade product made for Howard.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few micro-fine scratches, mild oxide to regulator assembly, some minuscule specks of oxide to winding wheels; dial excellent apart from beveling wear of its perimeter under bezel; fine hands, minute with oxide and finish loss to tip, seconds-hand with areas of oxide and finish loss; case shows light wear, some dings to band at 5:30, very slight soft ding toward upper-center rear evident as mild ripple of reflection; tight bow which is not seated flush to pendant at one side, crown shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
